Description: A form of this reputedly loveliest of all late flowering shrubs from the highest specimen we found on the western side of the South Cross Highway (more of a track in places) Taiwan. Large in the wild to 4m tall with velvety very broad leaves to 60cm across red flushed below on some seedlings, with large purple inflorescences to 50 cm across, fringed by serrated florets July-Oct, best in part shade, moist soil.
