Where it grew in the dense forests and in full sun on the open mountains. Forming a small to medium sized shrub, with thick textured serrated leaves sometimes purple below. Bearing terminal cymes of blue fertile (pink on lime) flowers, subtended by white to blue sterile florets during early summer-autumn. Sun or partial shade in any good moisture retentive soil. Previously offered as indochinensis.
