Pot Size: 7.5 litre Price: £80.00 Description: A member of the laurel family and the same genus as the commercial tree whose bark is harvested for cinnamon. Meanwhile this species is primarily grown for its attractive three veined glossy ovate-lanceolate dark green leaves, which are glaucous below. These are held on reddish petioles and young branches, only forming bushy evergreen shrubs to small trees in sheltered gardens. From seed we collected in the mountains of the Fukuoka area of Kyushu, Japan in 2015. Best grown is some shelter from the coldest winds in full sun and a moisture retentive soil with good drainage. Protect from severe frosts while young.
