A much sought after plant, giving us great joy in finding this rarity in the mountains of Central Honshu, Japan. Twining deciduous woody climber to 5m, bearing creamy-white flowers in axillary clusters May-June, followed by on pollinated female plants, long drupes of blue-black fruit. For humus-enriched soil, part shade-full sun. Unsexed seedlings. Syn. S. repanda.
