Description: From a seed collection I made on Little Snow Mountain on the border between Yunnan and Sichuan with Dan Hinkley. A particularly stunning form of this species with purple flushed foliage when emerging to 10cm long. A strong growing deciduous shrub with flaking and arching stems to 3m tall, bearing a wonderful display of highly scented cup-shaped white flowers to 4cm across, with contrasting purple calyces. Easily grown in any fertile drained soil in sun or shade. Hardy to -15C.
