One the loveliest of all late flowering shrubs, with a slightly spreading habit forming a thicket of strongly upright bristly stems with peeling bark. With velvety broadly rounded leaves and an abundance of lilac-purple inflorescences July-October. Best grown in some sheltered from the coldest of winds in full sun to part shade in a moisture retentive soil.
