Where it had formed a small to medium sized tree with ovate scalloped leaves, bearing terminal spikes of black seed emerging from their capsules at that time. The young foliage emerging with a pink tinge in spring, while the creamy yellow flowers open in June in the wild. Best grown in a sheltered site in full sun, with protection from the strongest winds. Lime tolerant.
