Description: A very hardy deciduous woody climber with twining stems to 6m long, bearing pink tinged white flowers in clusters from the axils of the elliptic leaves from April-June. Followed by when the female flowers are pollinated, by showy pendant spikes of red fruit to 15 cm long. Although both male and female flowers are born on the same plants it is usually necessary to have a second clone as a pollinator. From one of our seed collections gathered in the cold Chirisan area of South Korea with Dan Hinkley et al in the autumn of 1997. Easily grown in a humus-enriched soil, in part shade-full sun.
