Our collection from the mountains of Northern Kyushu, Japan in 2001, where this deciduous small shrub only grew to 1.5m tall along a steam within a forest. A deciduous shrub bearing terminal and axillary congested panicles of small white flowers in profusion from May to July. On slender branches of opposite finely toothed leaves, with few white stellate hairs below. Easily grown in any reasonable soil in sun or part shade.
