Description: Erect hairless clump-forming perennials emerging from branching rhizomes, with erect un-branched stems to 50cm tall on mature plants. Having 4-6 pairs of sharply serrated elliptic-ovate leaves, bearing April-frost (all year under protection) terminal branching inflorescences of arching spikes of persistent small white strongly scented flowers. Best growing in a humus-rich moisture retentive well draining soil in full to partial shade, or in a shady frost free glass house/conservatory. From a collection we gathered in 1993 from Datung Dahli, Taroko in eastern Taiwan
