Where this species, formed a central leafy clump, with long semi-climbing flowering stems, which root on contact with moist soil. Flowering July-frost, bright purple with black centres. Easily grown in part-full shade in a moist well drained fertile soil. Invaluable as a late ground cover after bulbs such as blue-bells.
