From one of our seed collections gathered at close to the coast in 2006, of this slow growing slender branched species that we have only encountered on the island of Yakushima. With spindly cinnamon branches when juvenile later maturing to more robust upright growth, bearing thin textured deeply serrated elliptic leaves pale green above bronzed to purplish below. Bearing terminal cymes of white lace-cap styled inflorescences through the summer with sizeable sterile florets. Best grown in good light to part shade in a well drained soil with some moisture retention. Syn. angustipetala Yakushima form.
