Pot Size: 1.5 litre Price: £30.00 Description: From a seed collection we gathered from a steep forest in the Kozbana, of western Slovenia in 2017. An upright form to around a meter tall with up to 20 short branches bearing ovate-lanceolate spine-tipped cladodes less than 2.5 times as long as broad on average in this form. Bearing on the upper surface tiny white and purple flowers in the cooler months of the year, followed by plump red berries on short stalks if pollinated. A sub-shrub arising from a woody rhizome, with new stems produced annually, which persist for 2-3 years then best pruned away. Easily grown in light to dark shade, in most types of moisture retentive soils, although very drought tolerant.
