Pot Size: 10 litre Price: £80.00 Description: From one of our seed collections gathered close to the Chinese border in the very north of Vietnam in the autumn of 2007, when Sue and I had assess this new area which had never been botanised previously. Where we found this Asian genus only recently segregated from Gordonia a close relative of Camellia which it has a close affinity to, but on a larger scale. Worthy of being grown for its handsome foliage alone, which are to 25cm (10") long in this collection, exceptionally glossy and thick, while serrated in the upper half of the oblong-elliptic leaves. Bearing in late summer into early winter large white Camellia-like flowers to 20cm across. Best grown in a warm situation in a drained fertile neutral to acid soil out of freezing winds.
