Dahlia imperialis - BSWJ14341

Pot Size: 7.5 litre
Price: £15.00
Description:
Forming a remarkable clumping plant where we found this giant perennial species on our decent back towards Bogot√° at 2760m, from a Paramo to the east of the city, in 2015. With robust bamboo-like green stems supporting the large compound textured foliage, complemented by terminal clusters of sizeable lilac flowers in this form from October till frost. A collection we gathered with enthusiasm, as on previous occasions we were too early for seed, these had been plants to 7m tall. For a sunny warm spot in moist but well drained soil, best protected from frost.
