Description: From one of our collections made on the high slopes of Volcán Zunil Guatemala at 3300m in 2001. Where this species formed clumps of grey-green paddle-shaped basal leaves with distinct red midribs to 80cm long. Thrusting upright stems to 1.5m tall terminal cymes of yellow ray-flowers. Best cultivated in fertile soil which is well drained in full sun or partly shaded, protect the roots from severe frost.
