Description:
A Himalayan species emerging from strong rhizomes with upright stems to 1.5m tall bearing broad dark green leaves and a dense terminal spike of scented white spidery flowers with upright orange stamen on long filaments, from green bracts in October. Grown in our open fields for many years without any protection. Easily grown in full sun to part shade in a leafy moisture retentive but drained soil, protect the rhizomes from frost with a deep mulch. Spread 1m. Often offered as H. griffithii in general cultivation in the UK.
