Description: We were pleasantly surprised, on our decent through the alpine forests of eastern Nepal nearing the end of our 2002 expedition, to find this large leafed species. Forming a thicket of long more or less arching green stems mostly 2m tall, bearing alternate elliptical dark green glossy leaves with long pointed tips (acuminate). With axillary spikes of clustered fragrant flowers as well as the fruit resulting from the previous years flowers. Best grown in a sheltered position is good light out of direct sunlight, kept almost frost free.
