A rare form of this perennial that is lacking the usual hairiness on the stems, originating from the Satsuma area of Kyushu Island, Japan. Bearing clusters of up facing open lily flowers, white heavily purple-spotted, in the axils of the stem clasping dark green leaves during summer and autumn. Easily grown in light shade to full shade in a humus-rich soil which is drained in winter.
