Description: From one of our seed collections from southern Oregon from our expedition there with Sean Hogan in the autumn of 2014. Where we found this seed in the north-west Chetco River, in the Vulcan Park area, forming a small colony. Somewhat shrivelled with the drought conditions by the time we were there, but reputed to be a showy perennial capable of attaining around 1.8m of height on sometimes branching stems from the base. With a generous show of bright yellow tall cone-flowers from late summer into the autumn adorning the dark green foliage to 60cm long. Best grown in a fertile drained soil with some moisture retention, careful not to overfeed unless you require tall plants. Grow in full sun to light shade.
