That we collected seed of on our expedition to eastern Nepal in 2002, with Dan Hinkley and Jamaica Kincaid. Where it formed dense clumps of many-branched stems to over 1m tall clothed in elliptic bristly leaves with terminal and axillary spikes of blue-purple tubular flowers August-October. Easily grown in sun to part shade in a fertile drained soil, protect the roots from severe cold and waterlogging.
