Where this herbaceous species had formed a colourful colony of upright dark red stems of 9-13 leafleted pinnately arranged foliage to 1.5m tall. Growing at the edge of an alpine meadow in full flower. Bearing bold flattened terminal umbels of glistening black fruit resulting from the white pink tinged flowers. Easily grown in sun or shade in any kind of fertile drained soil.
