Description: One of the most architectural/dramatic species we grow that we were originally given by James Compton from one of his wild collections near Punta del Este, Uruguay in 2000, where it grew along a stream course in damp ground. For us in an exposed situation it has formed large rosettes of long slender spine margined strap-shaped grey-green leaves 1.5m long. With dramatic upright flowering stems to 3m densely branched in the upper portion, bearing umpteen small thimble-rounded umbels of flowers. Easily grown in a well drained soil with some moisture retention in good light.
