Description:
From our 2015 expedition to Taiwan, in conjunction with The Taiwan Natural Science Museum in Taichung. When we made a concerted effort to find the newly described varieties of this species. We found this variety growing in a moist forest of Xitou at 1,800m in Central Taiwan. Where it formed strong arching stems, from large fleshy knobbly rhizomes. Bearing in spring, clusters of up to 7 large pendent tubular green-tipped white flowers borne all along the 1.2-2m stems, in the axils of dark green leaves that emerge with silver stripes. Best grown in part-full shade, in a well drained moisture retentive soil.
