Description: Collected from the mountain of Fan Xi Pan, in North Vietnam, with Dan Hinkley in 1999. An elegant small evergreen forest shrub to only 1.5m tall. With leaves comprising of 7-11 ovate dark-green leaflets held in two false whirls, on wiry purple tinted stems. Bearing loose terminal panicles of pale flowers held in rounded clustered umbels, followed by purple-blue fruit. Best grown in a fertile soil that is well drained in sun or part shade, protect from freezing winds and severe frost when young. Syn. Brassaiopsis gracilis.
