From one of our collections gathered in the mountains of the Kochi district of Shikoku, Japan in the autumn of 2006. Where this rare species in cultivation, grew in the shade of the forest. With grey-green darker-spotted leaves with undulating margins, held alternately on the upright bristly stems to 75cm tall, the upper leaves clasping. Bearing widely opening purple spotted white flowers in the leaf axils and in terminal cymes. Easily grown in humus rich drained soil in part shade.
