Where they attain 4-5m with a fairly open habit of brown lenticeled long branches bearing large ovate textured leaves with conspicuous venation, which are densely hairy below. Bearing almost continuously in the wild, broad cymes of small white flowers followed by conspicuous small red flattened fruit. Best grown in a well drained but moisture retentive soil in full sun in a site protected from cold winds.
