Pot Size: 2 litre (deep) Price: £15.00 Description: An intriguing species forming 80cm tall arching stems with variably shaped ovate-elliptic alternate leaves with undulating margins, terminating in a decidedly pendulous racemose inflorescence 12cm long, bearing trilocular red fruit following the white lilac speckled flowers. From seed we gathered from very steep altitudinal shaded banks covered in scrub, near Volcán Zunil, Quetzaltenango Guatemala in 2001. Best grown in full to part shade in a drained but retentive soil, shelter from severe cold. Was Smilacina flexuosa, but does not quite fit the description of the species.
