Description: Found growing on towering limestone outcrops in deep pockets of leaf-mould, that gave it the severe drainage that it requires, along with the constantly moist compost. Despite growing in relatively restricted pockets they were able to form sizeable plants to several meters tall bearing whirls of bright pink and contrasting green tipped axillary flowers, on flexuous climbing stems that were held in place by the terminal tendrils on the tips of the long narrow leaves. Taking many years to form sizeable plants that can climb annually to 5m long. Probably the most flamboyant of all the species we grow, which we found in northern Vietnam, in an area of large limestone outcrops, in 2007 on a field trip with the Environment Agency based in Hanoi.
