Pot Size: 1 litre (deep) Price: £25.00 Description: A semi-woody (at its base) climbing species, which we have encountered many times over the years. Normally encountered at elevations that we would not expect much hardiness, but on this occasion in the high northern mountains of Taiwan, near Meifeng, it grew at almost double its normal elevation at 2760m. Semi-evergreen growing from short woody rhizomes laxly twining up to 3m long, supported by tiny hooked spines, on lax stems carrying linear, leaf-like cladodes in whorls of 1-3. Tiny, nodding, pale yellow flowers appear in clusters of 2-3 in summer, followed by green berries ripening red. Requires full sun and well-drained soil.
