Despite finding vast areas of forest almost waist high with dense colonies of this tufted species with strap-shaped thick-textured leaves to 50cm long. With tall dark scapes to 1m straining with the weight of dark blue ovoid fruit, which succeeded the clusters of conspicuous large (for Ophiopogon) white flowers. Easily grown in light to full shade in a little shelter and preferably a leafy drained soil.
