Pot Size: 5 litre Price: £40.00 Description: From a seed collections made during our ascent on Fansipan the highest mountain in northern Vietnam, with Dan Hinkley in 2003 at 2250m. Where this species with its erect thicket-forming bamboo-like upright stems was plentiful with uniquely exquisite leaves, comprising of 5-3 pleated leaflets silky white below. One of our most popular evergreen shrubs giving an instant air of the Orient attaining a height of 3m in gardens bearing small white flowers followed by red fruit by late summer. Easily grown in a moisture retentive well drained soil, with shelter from the coldest winds. Capable of losing its foliage in a cold winter without ill effect. We find this form to be much more robust than its Himalayan counterpart, being tolerant of colder winter temperatures.
