Description:
One of the best species growing in our garden that we originally collected with Dan Hinkley in 1999. Here it has formed an upright small tree 5m tall with large paddle-shaped dark glossy leaves white below bearing a generous quantity of its large white flowers with red centres opening in mid-summer from June to August. This collection gathered in 2011, the same year it was described to science, from our hike to Five Fingers Mountain, close to Fansipan the highest mountain in Vietnam. Proving perfectly hardy to -15C here in a well drained soil with good moisture retention in part shade.
