A graceful plant with stout erect stems to 1m tall, bearing rounded hairy pale green leaves, with terminal spikes of reddish flowers, lasting for many weeks in late summer-autumn. Easily grown in a position in full sun-part shade, in any type of fertile moisture retentive soil that is well drained.
