With narrowly elliptic dark green leaves on arching green stems to 1.5m tall with highly fragrant axially spikes of staminate male flowers Dec.-March, pollinating the lower females, which bear dark red fruit in late winter. Easily grown, best in shade in any type of drained soil, preferably not too dry. Good on chalk.
