Description: Originating from one of our seed collections from a meadow on our way up the Lachen Valley in eastern Sikkim in 1994. A creeping perennial with red buds emerging from the ground in early spring soon forming upright reddened stems to 1m tall bearing yellow inflorescences with showy bracts from June to August. This form is distinct in that the foliage is dark green with a tinge of bronze, while the upright stems and the mid-ribs of the leaves are an intense pink rather than red. Easily grown in type of fertile soil, even shaded and dry areas if adequate moisture is supplied in spring.
