Arising from transient thin rhizomes, with erect slender hairy stems to 80cm tall with alternating oblong leaves, stem-clasping at their base to 17cm long. Bearing loose cymes terminally and in the upper leaf axils, of white heavily spotted flared flowers September-October. Easily grown in sun or shade in a humus-rich soil that is drained.
