A clump-forming perennial from swollen roots that we have built up stocks of in our fields, from one of our collections gathered in the exceptionally cold climate of the mountainous area of Woraksan in South Korea in 2001. Where it formed sizeable colonies of grooved arching broad leaves to only 10 cm long, with stronger flowering stems to 50 cm tall bearing clusters of short stalked burnt-orange widely funnel-shaped flowers July-October.
