Thalictrum podocarpum - BSWJ14297

Sorry this plant is not available at the moment. Please try again later or select an alternative plant.
A peculiar species, as are all the ones we have come across so far in the Latin American areas. This species had established a fair sized colony on a heavily shaded forested steep bank, of sprawling sturdy dusty purple stems to 2m long, with huge yellow pairs of stipules/bracts at the base of the main branches. Almost hidden by the mass of small blue-grey leaflets that make up the large well divided leaves. Below the haze of small yellowish flowers with over-sized conspicuous protruding bright pink stamen, born in large terminal inflorescences. From one of our collections from Armenia in central Colombia gathered in January 2015 at 3150m. Best grown in a well drained soil with a bit of moisture retention, in either full sun, part shade or shade.
