Where it clung on to steep rocky terrain within this steep forest, forming slender shrubs to 3m tall, with lax branches of dark green elliptic leaves long tipped. Bearing large terminal loose panicles of black orbicular fruit, which succeeded the greenish-white flowers of April-May. Easily grown in light to dark shade in a humus enriched acidic or alkaline soil.
