Pot Size: 15 litre Price: £100.00 Description: A collection gathered with Peter Wharton in the autumn of 2007 from the slopes of Fansipan in the north of Vietnam, where we have only seen them forming small to medium sized trees, this collection from two 18m specimens. One of our most impressive introductions that has proved to be unflinching in its hardiness here. Nicknamed as Styrax on steroids, they have proved to be difficult and expensive to introduce taking as long as 5 years to germinate. With elliptic-lanceolate serrulate foliage 10cm long with acuminate tips on red petioles, the ground surrounding them strewn with their large sausage-shaped spotted woody seed in autumn.
