Description: From one of our seed collections made in the Central Mountains of Taiwan, at Meifeng at 2225m. On our joint expedition with The Taiwan National Museum of Natural Science in 2015. A distinctly dainty slow-growing tree usually to 5m tall in gardens, but of much larger proportions in the wild. Bearing wonderfully colourful glossy narrowly five-lobed leaves turning crimson-bronze in the autumn, on dark slender stems. Best grown in a moist well drained soil in part shade to full sun, sheltered from strong cold winds. Also known as A. serrulatum.
