Bearing open cup-shaped yellow flowers from spring to late summer, followed by curious long bristly seed capsules, on upright branched stems to 30cm tall. Deservedly popular due to its tolerance of dry shade, although it prefers rich woodland conditions in part-full shade in a moisture retentive well drained soil.
