Pot Size: 1.5 litre Price: £30.00 Description: An easily distinguished clone of Butcher's Broom, with a bit of history dating back to early last century, involving Miss Willmott, when it was introduced into British cultivation from France. A female clone at around 1m tall, of slender grey-green branched stems bearing long narrow sharply tipped cladodes (leaf-like stems) to approx. 3.5cm long, with a length to width ratio greater than 5-7:1. The distinctly stalkless small flowers and resulting red fruit (when pollinated) are borne on the upper surface of the cladodes, twisting basally resulting in the berry ending below the cladode. This stock originating from Cambridge BG via Cally Gardens. Easily grown in a drained fertile soil in full to part shade, commonly native on limestone.
