An impressive shrub when we found it in the Central Mountains of Taiwan in the early morning mist. With distinct, thick-textured oblong shallowly toothed leaves, on stout branches. Bearing an abundance of pyramidal cymes of red fruit, which had succeeded the white flowers carried June-August. Sun to part shade in a drained soil. Shelter from cold winds.
