Description: A much larger yellow form of the well known passion fruit of supermarkets, sometimes referred to as the Yellow Maracuyá, which are best eaten when well ripened. Here is the opportunity to grow your own plants of this more unusual form, yet reputedly easier to grow, that we found in Colombia. Best attempted under protection, as they are not as frost hardy as the normal blue passion flower, Passiflora caerulea. Capable of forming a vigorous tendril climber with deeply three-lobbed serrulate glossy leaves. Bearing the large purple and white flowers throughout the summer months at 6cm across. Only suitable for growing outside in the UK in the mildest gardens.
