Description:
This is a very distinct cultivar in its foliage, of the hardy Chinese/Japanese species of Begonia, that developed some silver spotting on the normally plain green upper surface of the foliage. With large palmate dark green leaves, normally red below, on erect stems that are red at the nodes, which in turn producing bulbils in the autumn. The pink flowers are borne in terminal sprays opening from reddish buds in late summer. Best in a woodsy soil in warm full-part shade. Height 90cm, flowering August-frost. Originating from Sichuan by Dave Demers, passed on to us by Dan Hinkley.
