Description: We were very fortunate to find seed of this wonderful addition to the winter garden, as this species is winter flowering there is normally no seed on the plants by the autumn. We were so impressed with its habit, with the long white tubular deliciously scented flowers which were in full swing that December of 2007. We just had to make that extra effort to get it introduced into cultivation. The foliage is evergreen, but thin textured oblong-lanceolate finely serrated with impressed venation above. Best cultivated in a well drained fertile soil that has some moisture retention, in reasonable shelter in a warm situation in good light. The species is recorded up to an altitude of 3,000m which indicates that it is hardy, but best sheltered for better results.
