Description: From one of our hikes with Dan Hinkley on Mount Townsend in the Pacific North-West in 2013. Where we found plants of this beautiful species in seed growing in an alpine meadow. With pendant long spurred red flowers consisting of five red, lance-shaped sepals pointing outwards or slightly recurved, with five slender conical petals red that are yellow at the open ends. Flowering from April to August. Easily grown in a drained fertile soil that does not dry out in good light to light shade.
