Description:
I almost missed this in the wild as it looked more akin to a small bamboo. Forming thickets of upright green branching stems, which were in fact rhizomes, supported by small stilt-like roots. Bearing ovate-cordate bright green white spotted leaves with several impressed parallel veins on the upper surface. All on long petioles, while several of them bore the distinct flowers in their axils. With upturned pink surfaced stigma peeping out between the white purple stained perianth lobes, of a short cupped white tube. Growing on a steep rocky mountain side in limestone rubble, shaded by the edge of an alpine forest, in good company of several rare species. From Cao Bang Province, Vietnam close to the Chinese border.
